Association Membership

Become a registered member of the Association and join a supportive community dedicated to helping individuals cope with the loss of their companion animals. Our registered membership fee is £80 per year.

Registered membership of the association is open to - 

• Pet Bereavement Counsellors who have a qualification in Pet Bereavement Counselling.
• Qualified Counsellors or Psychotherapists who offer pet bereavement counselling as one of their services.

Registered members can upgrade to full accredited member status upon successfully completing our independent assessment (see below). 

All registered members must agree to adhere to the Associations Code of Ethics and Professional Standards.

In order to become an accredited member you must first join the Association as a registered member. After joining as a registered member you will be able to request to participate in our assessment; our assessment is split into two parts. Firstly you must pass a written assessment; on successful completion of the written assessment, you will then participate in an oral assessment; our oral assessments are carried out over 2 weekends each year. There will be a charge of £40 to undertake our assessment process.

Upon successful completion of our assessment you will be awarded an Accredited membership, our Accredited membership fee is £120 per year payable on renewal of your membership.

All accredited members must agree to adhere to the Associations Code of Ethics and Professional Standards.

Available to those who are not directly counselling pet owners but who are allied to the pet loss industry, for example those who sell pet loss products or merchandise, pet crematoriums and cemeteries and veterinary groups or surgeries.
