Our Ambassadors

Dignipets

Dignipets is a group of independent vets and nurses who provide the best at-home hospice and end-of-life care possible in their local areas. Please read more from Dignipets...

We understand that the loss of a pet is a profound experience, and we're committed to supporting pet owners with care, sensitivity, and professionalism throughout their journey.

Our mission

At Dignipets, we believe every pet deserves a dignified farewell. Our mission is to support pet owners from the moment of diagnosis through bereavement and beyond - offering hospice care, peaceful home euthanasia, and meaningful aftercare that honours the special bond between people and their companion animals.

Supporting you and your pet every step of the way

What sets Dignipets apart is our understanding that support is needed long before the final goodbye. We're here for you throughout the entire journey.

Our Hospice Support Team provides emotional and practical guidance during your pet's final weeks and days, helping you navigate difficult decisions and prepare your family for what's ahead.

Our Pet Bereavement Support Group offers a safe, compassionate community where pet carers can share their experiences with others who truly understand. Grief doesn't follow a timeline, and neither does our support.

Why we support the Association of Pet Bereavement Counsellors

We're proud ambassadors of the Association of Pet Bereavement  Counsellors because our work has shown us that grief begins long before a pet passes away. It starts the moment a diagnosis is given and continues long after the final goodbye.

Professional bereavement counsellors offer the specialised therapeutic support that complements our hospice team and peer support groups. By partnering with the Association, we ensure that pet carers have access to the full spectrum of support they need - from community groups to professional counselling services.

Together, we ensure that both pets and their families receive the dignity, compassion, and expert care they deserve at every stage of the journey.

Cat Henstridge 'Cat the Vet'

Cat is a veterinary surgeon who cares for pet animals like yours.  She has been working in the veterinary field for over 20 years and her passion is the relationship we have with our animals.  The bond we have with them is an extraordinary and precious thing and being a part of maintaining and strengthening that connection is a huge privilege for Cat and one of the primary drivers of her passion for her profession.

As well as her role with her patients, Cat also runs social media pages on several platforms where she shares her knowledge and enthusiasm for the animals we are so fortunate to share our lives with, and she has gained a large following doing so.

End of life care and being able to gift pets with a peaceful and pain-free passing is a central tenant of Cat's role and it is one she takes very seriously and feels honoured to be part of.  She knows the power and depth of the grief we can have when we face the loss of our companions and would like to reassure anyone reading that it is very normal to have strong feelings and sometimes struggles over their loss.

This is why she is so proud to be a patron of the Association of Pet Bereavement Counsellors and believes absolutely in their mission to provide support and guidance for those of us struggling with the grief of pet loss.
